What is Kundalini Yoga?
Often called the yoga of awareness, kundalini is a dynamic, sweaty practice that moves energy up and out so you can come back to who you are and live from that place. We do repetitive moment for time to find the edges within ourselves so that we can evolve into who we really are. I teach a modern style based on the methodology of my teacher Gloria Latham. A class includes:
Opening/tuning in with the Adi Mantra
Sweaty dynamic movement (called kriyas) — we will dance every class right now because the current times call for dancing
A guided kundalini-specific meditation
Deep relaxation (savasana)
Participation looks like
Creating a space for yourself to practice
Showing up on your mat for an hour
Practicing kundalini yoga + joining in the occasional wolf howl
Why I’m doing it
Right now we need each other. We need to get our feelings out, we need to gather in healthy supportive ways, we need to find love in these fearful times so we can make love-based choices. And we just need to dance and get it out.
